On most routers, the WPS button is on the back of the router, alongside the Ethernet ports. Press it once, and WPS is enabled and working. You can then connect your wireless devices through WPS. In the picture below, you can see how this button looks on an ASUS router.
The WPS button is located either on the front or back panel of your Linksys device. Some Wireless-G routers may not have a WPS feature. Refer to your product documentation for the detailed features of your router.
Most models of TP-Link routers can be reset by holding down the reset button for 6 to 10 seconds; on some models, the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) and reset buttons are the same, but the same procedure applies.
The WPS button simplifies the connection process
Press the WPS button on your router to turn on the discovery of new devices. Then, go to your device and select the network you want to connect to. The device is automatically connected to the wireless network without entering the network password.
Press the WPS button on the device you wish to connect. Within 120 seconds, press the WPS button on the wireless router. Note: You will need to press and hold the WPS button on the wireless router for about 2-3 seconds. After a short period of time, your device and the wireless router will be connected.
If you don’t have a WPS button on your hub/router, you can set up your extender using the web based set-up with an internet browser. Important: Before following these instructions, make sure your computer is not connected to the internet (unplug its ethernet cable or disconnect from your wi-fi network).
If your router is not working after pressing the WPS button, check if the time has been exceeded 2 minutes from the time you have enabled the WPS feature on your device. If this is the case, reconnect your device to your router using the WPS Push Button method.
Should WPS be on or off?
WPS works by allow us to join a wi-fi network without needing to know the network password. You simply push the WPS button on the router, join the network and you’re in. Unfortunately, WPS is horribly insecure and can be used as a means for attackers to gain access to your network. This is why we disable WPS.

Is WPS faster than WiFi?
