It will definitely work. But unless you’re doing something that specifically needs a ton of RAM (which I doubt if you’re asking this question), anything over 16GB is complete overkill. IMO 16GB itself is overkill but people just go for it because it’s easy to match two 8GB sticks in dual channel.
