If Start Menu disappears from your Windows 10 installation, the problem might be File Explorer. One suggested workaround that might help you is restarting the File Explorer. Once the File Explorer restarts, check if the problem still appears.
Many problems with Windows come down to corrupt files, and Start menu issues are no exception. To fix this, launch the Task Manager either by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting Task Manager or hitting ‘Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
To open the Start menu—which contains all your apps, settings, and files—do either of the following:
- On the left end of the taskbar, select the Start icon.
- Press the Windows logo key on your keyboard.
Press CTRL+ESC. If your taskbar magically reappears, then it’s probably simply been resized too small, repositioned somewhere you didn’t expect, or perhaps beneath another application that is running full-screen on your computer. The workaround? Press CTRL+ESC to access the taskbar.
