Hold on is (verb) 1. to hold something tightly She held on to the rope with both hands. Hold on to your purse in the crowd. Hold on tight, we’re turning! 2. to wait Hold on a moment, I’ll get my umbrella. Do you want to speak to the manager? Hold on, I’ll find him for you.
