What is Duty cycle (scanner)?

Duty cycle (scanner) meaning in Digital terms is This term generally refers to the percentage of time a machine or piece of equipment can be in operation in relation to the time it must remain out of operation. For instance, a duty cycle of 100 percent means that the equipment will operate continuously (24×7). A duty cyle of 30 percent means it will operate 30 percent of the time and then need a rest for 70 percent of the time. The specifications for commercial sheetfed scanners generally state their duty cycle in terms of sheets, pages or images per day or per month. Listed duty cycles are helpful in comparing devices, but are often not specific enough to dictate operating procedures on a daily basis.
