What is Welfare?

Welfare is (noun) 1. the act or practice of providing the things which people need and which help them to be healthy The club looks after the welfare of the old people in the town. We take the children to a child welfare clinic. The government has taken measures to reform the welfare system. 2. money paid by the government to people who need it He exists on welfare payments. The family is on welfare.
