An abstract design or representational image made by inscribing lines on a surface using pen and ink, pencil (graphite), metalpoint, charcoal, chalk, pastel, crayon, etc. Unlike a print that can be produced in multiple copies, a drawing is unique. Also refers to the act of making such a work, as distinct from painting, normally done with one or more brushes dipped in ink or pigment.
