What is Ferrods?

Ferrods meaning in Soil Science terminology / glossary / dictionary is:
Spodosols that have more than six times as much free iron (elemental) than organic carbon in the spodic horizon. Ferrods are rarely saturated with water or do not have characteristics associated with wetness. (A suborder in the U.S. system of soil taxonomy.)
