What is Rendering intent?

Rendering intent meaning in Digital terms is Method or set of instructions for mapping or translating color values from one color space to another, generally when converting from a color space with a larger gamut to one with a smaller gamut. ICC defines four rendering intents (absolute colorimetric, relative colorimetric, perceptual and saturation).
